children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Applied Behavior Analysis is widely
recognized as the treatment with the most
scientific credibility for helping
children with Autism Spectrum
Disorders. The staff of Phoenix use
this approach and we are proud to reach
out to families, children, and
communities in Wisconsin.

TREATMENT
BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS
Through our guidance
using Applied Behavior Analysis, families can
begin to understand difficult behaviors and
help their children learn better ways to
negotiate the world.
DEVELOPMENTAL GROWTH
We use Best
Practice Approaches to assess and develop
strategies individualized for each child as
they reach key milestones both intellectually
and emotionally.
LANGUAGE
We work in conjunction with
schools and private therapists to assess,
enhance, and develop receptive and expressive
language. Systems may include visual
strategies (PECS), functional sign language,
and language-based curriculum using highly
effective verbal behavior
approaches.
INTERACTION WITH PEERS
Friendship is
important. We understand how difficult it is
for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders to
“fit in” and feel socially connected. Our
emphasis on individualized assessment and use
of toy Play, Social Skills Conversation Skills
Emotional Exploration, and Friendship
Curriculums incorporating peer groups and
siblings enhances understanding and increases
positive interaction opportunities.
INFORMATION AND REFERRAL
At all
times, parents are a dynamic part of the
therapy process. We continue to share resources
with families and assist in referral or
collaboration with other professionals.
Families help develop and learn how to use
effective behavioral communication.
STATEGIES
We utilize the most effective
educational interventions based on continuous
assessment of the child’s needs and strengths.
Target behaviors are identified and clearly
defined with developmentally appropriate
measurable criteria.
OUR FOUNDATION
Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) serves as
our treatment foundation. Research and
development over 30 years have shown that
ABA is the most effective treatment for
children with autism. ABA is a
combination of behavior management, systematic
instruction, and generalization, building upon
successes and reinforcing correct responses to
ensure growth. One-to-One discrete trial
is supplemented with other advanced behavioral
techniques to ensure maximum skill acquisition
and generalization. Approaches may include, but
